Lucy the R.E.A.D. Dog

Come and read with Lucy! Lucy is a specially trained Reading Education Assistant Dog who loves to share stories. She likes it when children read to her, and she likes to read stories to children. Lucy is a registered Therapy Dog with Massachusetts Pet Partners. You can read more about Lucy at http://www.lucythereaddog.com. This program is suitable for ages 3 and up; registration is limited to 15. Participants can bring their favorite story to read to Lucy!

Go with Green: Clay Works with Ann McRea

CLAY•WORKS are programs for schools and libraries based on the power of storytelling to inspire children to sculpt animal characters from terra cotta clay. For more than 20 years, Ann has engaged children in programs designed to enliven reading themes and complement school curriculum. In “Go with Green” Ann will be focusing on frogs, engaging the children in a discussion of the challenges frogs face. After a sculpting demonstration, each child will sculpt their own frog of terracotta clay. This is a free program and is open to children ages 6-12. Mike Bent's Abrakidabra: Eco-magic

This 45 minute self-contained program features amazing magic, storytelling, music, puppets and hilarious kid-friendly comedy with a green theme. The show features messages about reading, the environment, recycling and conservation that will make kids excited about joining Mike’s “Green team!” This program is free and open to all!

Come and finish off the summer reading activities with a little bit of magic, and a whole lot of fun.
